PDF tables to Excel, the specialized tool for table extraction
PDF Monster's PDF tables to Excel tool extracts tables from PDF documents and turns them into editable Excel files (XLSX). Unlike classic PDF-to-Excel converters that turn each page into a sheet, this tool focuses exclusively on detecting tabular structures, with true X-coordinate clustering per column and Y-gap detection for multiple tables per page. That's the decisive difference from simple page-to-sheet conversion and makes it the first choice for bank statements, invoices, inventory lists and reports.
The processing runs entirely in your browser using PDF.js and SheetJS. No upload happens, no server sees your data, perfect for bank statements, invoices, internal reports and confidential tables. The result is a standards-compliant XLSX file with numeric values, ready to be used in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers and LibreOffice Calc. You can immediately work with SUM, AVERAGE, VLOOKUP and pivot tables without first converting numbers from text to number format.
Your data stays with you
Data security is a top priority at PDF Monster. Unlike cloud-based table converters the entire processing happens in your browser.
No upload, no server
PDF.js and SheetJS run entirely in the browser. Neither your PDF nor the generated XLSX leaves your device, ideal for bank statements and confidential reports.
GDPR compliant by design
Since no personal data is transmitted, there is no GDPR data processor and no third-country transfer. Safe for NDA material and internal accounting.
Open-source libraries
We use Mozilla PDF.js and SheetJS, both established, transparent and used millions of times. You can inspect the entire code in your browser.
No telemetry
We don't track which PDFs you process or which tables are detected. No file metadata, no contents and no access patterns reach our servers.

X-coordinate clustering over all text items on a page, so columns are detected regardless of visible lines. Works even on tables built only with whitespace.
Numbers as real values
Detected numbers land as numeric Excel cells, not text. SUM, AVERAGE, pivot tables and charts work immediately, no format conversion required.
100% local
No server upload. Unlike most competing tools, your PDF stays in your browser, perfect for sensitive data like bank statements or internal reports.
Editable before export
Every detected cell is clickable, fix incorrect values directly in the preview before the XLSX is generated. No back-and-forth between tool and Excel.
Frequently asked questions about PDF tables to Excel
